The Old Smithy Holiday Cottage
There is so much to see do and enjoy in this beautiful part of Shropshire. The Shropshire Union Canal is on the doorstep with opportunities for pleasant walks along the tow path, eating delicious food in the Whaff Tavern or even hiring a barge for a day from Norbury Wharf. There are some fantastic gardens, grand houses and an organic farm complete with cafe and farm shop. For those with younger children there is a miniture railways moments away. Golf and good fishing is also on hand and of course there is Market Drayton. Wednesday is market day but there is much to see everyday. As the birthplace and home of Clive of India it is steeped in history and has good claims to be the home of gingerbread.
Further affield you are well placed to visit Telford Park a fantastic Nature Reserve, Ironbridge, Shrewsbury, RAF Cosford the Potteries and Chester.
Welcome to the Old Smithy Holiday Cottages which are situated 3 miles from Market Drayton. We are Carmel and Arthur and we will do everything we can to make your stay a very enjoyable one.
We have two separate self-catering cottages which are graded by Shropshire Tourism as 4 star family accommodation.
The Cottage sleeps four and the Stables sleeps two. We have received lots of lovely feedback from our guests and if like the Soul group the Drifters you decide to visit more than once that will be fantastic.
